Proudly distilled, matured and bottled at Rademon Estate Distillery in County Down, this exceptional expression celebrates the craftsmanship, character and complexity of our independent, family-owned distillery.

Initially matured for seven years in a 36-month air-seasoned Virgin American Oak (Quercus Alba) cask, this distinctive Single Malt was then finished in a carefully selected Palo Cortado Quarter Cask, introducing remarkable depth and richness.

Our signature Shortcross notes of fresh apples and pears are beautifully complemented by indulgent dark chocolate and rich dried red fruits developed during Palo Cortado cask finishing.

The result is a decadent, richly flavoured Irish whiskey, where vibrant orchard fruits, sherry cask influence and carefully selected oak come together in a beautifully balanced expression.

Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and presented in its natural colour, preserving the authentic character and complexity of this exclusive release.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Inviting aromas of fresh apples and ripe pears intertwine with rich dried red fruits, complemented by delicate hints of dark chocolate and sweet oak.

Palate

Rich, complex and beautifully layered, with signature orchard fruits leading into indulgent dark chocolate and deep dried red fruit sweetness. The Palo Cortado quarter cask introduces further richness and complexity, creating a harmonious balance of fruit, chocolate and oak.

Finish

Long, rich and beautifully rounded, with lingering notes of dark chocolate, dried red fruits and gentle oak sweetness, complemented by the fresh orchard fruit character of Shortcross Single Malt.

This distinctive Single Malt begins its journey with seven years of maturation in a 36-month air-seasoned Virgin American Oak cask, developing the signature apple and pear character of Shortcross Irish Whiskey.

A finishing period in a carefully selected Palo Cortado Quarter Cask introduces further complexity, enhancing the whiskey with decadent notes of dark chocolate and rich dried red fruits.

The combination of orchard fruit freshness, sherry cask richness and carefully selected oak creates a distinctive expression that showcases the remarkable influence of patient maturation.
