Following seven years in Virgin American Oak, this whiskey undergoes additional finishing in a carefully selected Palo Cortado quarter cask, creating an elegant expression with added depth, richness and complexity.
2. Shortcross Ruby Port Quarter Cask Single Malt Irish Whiskey
A beautifully fruit-forward expression that showcases the influence of Ruby Port cask finishing.
Initially matured for seven years in Virgin American Oak, this distinctive Single Malt develops vibrant notes of red forest fruits alongside our signature apple and pear character during its finishing period in a Ruby Port quarter cask.

A bold and distinctive expression combining Shortcross Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey with the complex influence of Palo Cortado sherry cask finishing.
Crafted using peated malt with a phenol level of 55ppm, this Single Malt brings together aromatic smoke, the richness of Virgin American Oak maturation and the layered character of Palo Cortado quarter-cask finishing.

Each expression begins with seven years in 36-month air-seasoned Virgin American Oak casks, allowing our signature Shortcross Single Malt character to develop.
The whiskey is then transferred into specially selected quarter casks for additional finishing, introducing new layers of flavour and complexity.
The smaller dimensions of quarter casks create greater interaction between the whiskey and the oak relative to the volume of spirit, allowing each finishing cask to contribute its distinctive character.
